It’s been a great dish since Highland Kitchen opened, and it’s a great dish still. Root vegetables, plantains, and rice are ideal foils for the spicy golden curry. The goat is delicious, tender and flavorful, and I wish more restaurants served it. The roast chicken’s good too! And the fish dishes! But more than anything I crave Highland Kitchen’s coconut curried goat stew, and that’s what I’m having. I always want the deviled eggs, and the catfish po’boy, and the jambalaya, and that cheeseburger. My friend orders mussels in coconut curry-lobster broth with grilled Iggy’s bread for dunking. We made reservations earlier and were seated promptly upon arrival to Fog Harbor. However, a warning for those who love fresh calamari that has a strong calamari flavor - do not order this dish, unless you love the taste of breading. Maybe the other seafood at the restaurant is good, with the fish being highlighted. If we would've been asked how our food ways we would've been honest without being mean, but we never had the chance. I tried the Manhattan cocktail since it was made with my favorite bourbon, Buffalo Trace, but the drink only had a bourbon taste, but was missing that sweet vermouth and hint of bitters. I can't assume why but even my cocktail drink was disappointing. To make the visit even worse our waiter didn't even ask how our meal was. We had to break apart the breading from each piece just to get to the calamari and by then, all it tasted like was the breading seasoning. Now to be honest, the breading had a good flavor, but the calamari was lost. As you can see from the picture, about half of the dish was just breading. The best part of the dish were the jalapenos and onions. The calamari dish (costing $17) was billed as fried calamari with jalapenos and grilled onions with a lemon aioli. Thus, while we were visiting San Francisco and exploring all of the city's rich food scene we were hungering for some delicious Calamari and what better place to try out than at one of San Fran's top seafood restaurants? Well, the joy of our dish stopped at the view. The server tried to entice us with a visual dessert tray offering but we were just too full of seafood goodness to fit in any sweets, although they were a mix of all my favourites including creme brûlée, apple crisp with ice cream and chocolate cake! Sadly, this means I’ll have to go back one day and try them all.My wife and I love fresh, flavourful seafood. And the best part of eating at the Fog Harbor, aside from the amazing food of course, is the fact that they are the first restaurant on Fisherman’s Wharf to offer a 100% sustainable seafood menu. Let’s be honest, does anyone else make a lobster bib look this good? I think not. We ordered lobster mac and cheese which was every mouthful as good as it sounds, and a half lobster stuffed with crab…lobster heaven. I followed up with a couple of dishes that I shared with Julie of 3ChickensAndABoat. I ordered a cup of clam chowder to start and as I practically licked the bowl clean using a slice of their in house made sour dough bread that was still hot from the oven, as proof it was hands down the best clam chowder I’ve ever had. While, yes, the service was impeccable and yes, the decor was lovely and clean, the Fog Harbor is all about the view out the window and the view on your plate. It’s situated right on the harbor with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge on one side and Alcatraz on the other. This place doesn’t have a bad seat in the house. The 4 of us met up with Melissa from Family Fun Canada for dinner at the Fog Harbor Fish House. The pier is a tourist hot spot with views of the bay, shops, vendors, buskers, street art and of course food. We wandered down to the famous Pier 39 at Fisherman’s Wharf for some more shopping. Though it makes sense that using the most cores in the processor will lead to the best performance, not all apps use all cores, and some apps use a single core. The single and multi-core benchmarks are CPU tests, which put the processor through various programs to gauge their effectiveness. Without getting too technical, I’ll explain what these three categories mean. This Geekbench benchmark lists the performance of all of Apple’s mobile devices with three different categories: Single-Core, Multi-Core, and Metal. The A14 also has new machine learning accelerators in the CPU that improve machine learning calculation speeds by a factor of ten.įor those who just skimmed the entirety of the last paragraph, I’ll put it simply: this thing is a beast, and it has the benchmarks to prove it. According to Apple, the new iPad Air is two times faster at machine learning thanks to the onboard Neural Engine cores. Apple claims that the iPad Air 4 CPU is 40% faster than its predecessor and has 30% faster graphics. There’s also a 4-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine onboard the A14. The A14 has a 6-core 3.0GHz CPU, using two Firestorm and four Icestorm cores for high performance and energy efficiency, respectively. It’s a System on a Chip (SoC), which, apart from the CPU cores, also includes the GPU and Neural Engine cores for AI. The A14 Bionic, which Apple designed, isn’t just a processor. While the A14 Bionic is found on all the latest iPhone 12 models, no other iPad except the iPad Air 4 has it, which arguably makes it the most advanced tablet in Apple’s lineup. Newcomers looking for a powerful, yet affordable, video editing machine should also look into the iPad Air, which (in my experience) outpaces my PC when it comes to editing video.
